2007-11-01 - Help and closeness needed

I have been working as a volunteer about four months now. I can see every day how important our work at the orphanage is. We don´t really need any special skills, but caretaking, love and holding the children are the most important things. 2007-10-10 - I breath deep one day

I suppose I'm never going to get used to see children suffering, I said one day. Caretakers still lift handicapped children up from one leg and an arm. It feels so frustrating when things don't change. We were trying to fix one of the feeding chairs with Lea. Unfortunately the expensive equipment that would really benefit the children is not in use, but dirty under the roof tip. I cleaned the chair, putting a lot of effort into it, and finally we got a hungry boy
Chamroeun in the chair. He has a lot of compulsory movements, so feeding is difficult in many ways. Lea was complaining how porridge was flying on her skirt and in all directions. In the chair you can get him more relaxed and compulsory movements are much less. I was outside exercising Nari's legs, when Lea came to tell me that after she had finished feeding, the chair into which cleaning we had put so much effort had been taken outside and lots of rugs had been put on it, so that nobody would use it anymore.

Less then two months ago Kean was hiding under a cloth, groveled on the ground, was afraid of being touched and making monkey sounds.
